Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

Memorial Day--wahoo!

While Memorial has national meaning & symbolism. Both of my grandfathers were directly involved in fighting for our country a few years back--I am grateful for the service that they both gave to & for our country all of those years. Selfishly I am thankful for a day off. And even better a warm sunny day off!!

Hayden is doing good. He has been seizure free since April 19! Yes, that is right no seizures for 5 weeks now. It is hard to image. I told his neurologist --at the last appt about 2 weeks ago--we fee like we are on a glass plate waiting to just fall off!
School is going well & can we be selfish & say that we are missing it this holiday weekend?! He just needs continued structure & routine. Saturdays are pretty hard for him. As a family we want to 'go w/ the flow' & do different things, but that really knocks him for a loop. Sundays are better since he is use to church. When school kicks back in Monday & Tuesday are adjustments but it is as Martha would say---a good thing! Hayden is very busy all the time, his verbal skills haven't exploded yet & he gets pretty frustrated easily--we try working w/ his PECs here at home.

Shayla is so ready for the summer break. She keeps asking how more days are left. I send her to the calendar to count them ;).
We are struggling to find some summer things for her to do---she is being so darn picky about what she wants & doesn't want. I just know that she will be VERY bored at home all summer.

We are gearing up for our family vacation about a month away. Facing the gas prices is crazy! But we are ready to visit w/family & friends. Not to mention both Tim & I are ready for breaks away from our jobs.
xoxo, Amy
