Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

Baltimore...Sunday

We got away fairly early this morning to head towards Hopkins.  Once we were on the way to Hopkins, we received a call that we had gotten into the Ronald McDonald House.  We were quiet glad to hear this news.  The only down side now that we are settled is....there isn't a wireless internet connection & there isn't any exercise equipment.  So I'll have to update/complete this post tomorrow when I 'think' we will have wireless hook up at Hopkins during the first phase of our stay there.  And I guess I'll have to figure out some other exercise routine for the week...running the stairs, maybe??

Anyhow, for Hayden's last meat, we were going to take him some where that he really liked (Chick-fil-a was out as it's Sunday & they are closed on Sundays)....but considering we are in downtown Baltimore & everyone w/ their family must be here this weekend...that plan didn't really work out too well.  We settled on picking up some dessert from The Cheesecake Factory (I ran/walked before we left this morning....& first real splurge since January...it will be the only one this week too!).  We decided on a light supper from Panera Bread.  Hayden enjoyed a grilled cheese, yogurt tube, chips & Nutrigrain bar.  We walked around a the Inner Harbor area, but needed to get Hayden settled for the evening.  He enjoyed the steep stairs here at the RMH many times before his medications hit him. So here we are...plugging forward toward the morning hours when life as Hadyen knows it will change drastically for several years.

Several things stand out to me tonight....Shayla is home, we are here, things are very different for her & things are changing for Hayden...I don't like either one.  As parents we always want the best for our children...Tim & I decided the ketogenic diet was the best for Hayden & staying home was best for Shayla.  I miss her!

Although Hayden is non-verbal, he is still very insistent about his desires.  I worry about this dietary change & how will it affect his over all mood...only time will tell.  But tonight we say good bye, fare well to all his beloved carbohydrates...like pancakes/waffles, pretzels, goldfish, Nutrigrain bars, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.....lets also pray we can say good bye to his seizures as well.
Time to prepare for Monday morning......I my brain is tired.
