I have been posting quotes once a day on my FaceBook page that reflects our feelings about open adoption & how it has affects our family.
These are a couple of my favorite quotes.....
- "Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bones, but still ... miraculously ... my own. Never forget for a single minute, you didn't grow under my heart ... but in it."
- "They are mine in a way that they will never be hers, yet they are hers in a way that they will never be mine, and so together, we are motherhood." (Desha Wood)
- Psalm 113:9 -- "He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord." This pretty much says it all for me -- what an amazing God we have!
- True LOVE is meaning that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how pain the choices you face might be.... from Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. We appreciate the TRUE LOVE displayed by our children's birthparents.
- "I didn't give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know. The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so. For us to have each other, is like a dream come true. No, I didn't give you the gift of life, Life gave me the gift of you." (Unknown) Adoption ... it's about love!
- “There are two different kinds of strength. There’s the strength to make a parenting plan and then there’s the strength to give that plan to another.”
- "I didn't give you the gift of life. But in my heart I know. The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so. For us to have each other is like a dream come true! No, I didn't give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you."
