Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

What do you wish your kids would remember?

So I follow many random blogs & came across this one a few months ago, The Gypsy Mama.  When you have a special needs child sometimes you just have to live through others adventures.  Needless to say I've learned a lot reading about Lisa-Jo's family, it's challenged my thoughts about my faith & pushed me to want to be more.

That brings me to the title of this entry:  What do you wish your kids would remember?
(in no special order)

  • I pray that both of our children know how we literally went to the moon & back for them, how we longed to be parents for so many years before we were blessed by their loving birthparents to become parents.
  • That even though I officially stink at house keeping the dust bunnies really aren't that big, LOL...and we are clean people :).
  • That I love it when I get to spend time with each of them alone...I love to learn about what makes them happy...what makes them tick, ok that would be for Shayla.
  • I want them to know how hard we work to make their lives fun, challenging, & rewarding in many different ways.
  • I pray that our children know how much we--Tim & I-- work to make our marriage work.  We love each other, but marriages take work.  I want them to know that I love when their Dad holds my hand, gives me a kiss, gives me time to take care of myself--exercise.
  • That I laugh at silly things--some times I even snort & I can't remember jokes.
  • That I enjoy cooking, even though I don't get to do it very often like I would like to do.
  • I love to read a good book & take a long nap; I don't like coffee but like my hot tea (Starbuck's Earl Gray Latte skim please) or diet coke (from Sonic w/ extra ice would be great)
  • I want them to know I love them more than life itself & sometimes that intense love hurts each of us.
  • I long for both of our children to know how much Jesus loves them & wants to be their Savior, oh how He longs for them to be at His feet
  • That each of our children are special in their own way.  We were meant to be a family long before we were formed as a family.
p.s. I have lots to say share about the .dotMom conference I attended last week as well as an Autism conference.  I am still processing all the information I learned.
