Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

It's been a while........

Lots has been going on in our house these past few weeks. I've been trying to find a few moments here & there to update our blog.........here's a little update.

....we celebrated Grammy's birthday

....I survived an intense class for work & participated in a children's clothing consignment sell & did really well all in the same week, phew....really glad when Saturday arrived that week :).

....Hayden had a viral infection along with an ear infection, we survived that LONG weekend too, he figured out how to open the cabinet, helped himself to the snacks when the fever took breaks, that silly boy!

....Hayden had his hearing test & while I don't really understand the results---yet, but we are considering a second opinion as we're not sure all the testing that needs to done was done.

...I went to a scrapbook weekend! Whaoo.......it was so great to get away for a girlfriend weekend. I got so much done, I was able to scrap the pictures I had taken for 2007 & work on 2006. We didn't get a lot a sleep & the trip home was long & the week was even longer.

...BUT before I left for the scrapbook weekend, Hayden's speech therapist suggested a joint evualation session with another therapist. So on Tuesday we went to the therapy center for the joint session......while it is frustrating to learn your child may have sensory issues & learning to work through them is even harder, we are taking it day by day. Starting in June, we hope to an OT join Hayden's team of care providers along with speech therapy & LIFT. All these together will give us a more definite answer/diagnosis....it is the in-between-stuff that is so hard! And the learning is hard too, phew...we are tired, physically & emotionally.

....the GOOD things are that we are learning to spend time together doing different activities, spending quality time with each child makes the difference, & spending time to recharge our own batteries makes all the difference.

We are blessed each of our children have special qualities & traits that them they way that they are & we have special birthparents to thank for that.
Have a very BLESSED weekend!
~Amy
