Hayden had his speech evulation on Tuesday March 27. He has expressive & receptive communication delays as well as delays in cognitive developmentl. So the short story is that we are starting his speech therapy next Thursday. A second therapy for the cognitive delays will follow soon after. Hayden needs to have his hearing tested as well even though he passed his infant hearing test.
It has been frustrating b/c Hayden doesn't talk just makes a few sounds, so we never know what he wants. I've tried sign language w/ him but others haven't follwed through & he isn't still AT ALL nothing holds his attention except sleep,.
Of course I had a nice little cry Tuesday after the testing was done, but that was it.....Hayden is Hayden & he is perfect in his own way. He will be getting the help that he needs & that is all that matters. It is onward & upwards from here.
