Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

Hayden update

Hayden had his 18 month check up last week, thought the office check up might give a few a laugh

When we got to the exam room Hayden....tore the exam paper up when trying to get his weight- 27.91 lb. (73%), screamed like an abanche' when measuring his length 33.66 inches (68%).
Gave a shining performance for dumping cheerios everywhere, pitching a fit once his cup was empty, threw blocks in the exam room, tried to escape more times than I can remember & threw himself in the floor all the way out the door once we were 'free' to leave, lol. Has a referral in the process to LIFT due to not talking, speaking at least 5 words/pointing to body parts. Basically, Hayden didn't met all the developmental mile stones that most 18 month olds are currently at. The LIFT referral is a free evaluation in our home. We'll just have to wait for the appt. to be set up.
Tim & I feel better about this referral being made as we've made comments at the last several appt. about Hayden's lack of verbal skills....and it's not just a boy thing.
He has cut 2 more teeth. Got the Hep A vaccine, given that he could have some exposure pre-natal to the Hep A virus.
And we are going to put him in preschool come fall, if Hayden needs to repeat the 2 yr program then that is fine....we'll do that or the 3 yr program, but he needs some more structure & interaction w/ kids.
