Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

UVA visit--Tuesday morning

Hayden was admitted to UVA yesterday (Monday late afternoon) due to his change in neurological status. The decision was made solely by Hayden's neurology team at UVA, Tim & I did not seek out an hospitalization intervention.  Prior to arriving at UVA, Hayden was starting to make some improvements but he was still not Hayden.

Hayden sporting his helmet for safety & trying to work the clips on his stroller....as of Monday night Hayden was unable to stand alone nor able to fasten the clips.

After a H-U-G-E delay in waiting for a bed assignment, we arrived at ~6pm.  One doctor came in shortly after we arrived to assess Hayden.  So glad we brought something for Hayden to eat...there wasn't an offer to get him a dinner tray, grrrr!  Tim went to find us something to eat thank goodness.
My other issue of the night is that Hayden's medications were severely delayed!  I'm talking 3+hrs! I finally told the staff look either you find Hayden's medications or I'm giving him the ones I brought from home.
We both slept some through the night...as much as you can in a semi-private room & across from the nursing station. Two of Hayden's medications were tweaked last night---whether this will be a permanent change or temporary, who knows....but Hayden is still sleeping this morning.

One doctor has been in this morning--Tuesday, nothing new right now...'grand rounds' to come later this morning, perhaps we will learn of the 'grand' plan at that time.  Hayden continues to sleep.
Grateful for support from all---Amy
