Hayden did well over night. He slept through the night except one seizure (or more?? If I didn't hear them), didn't stir for vital signs nor blood sugar checks. Tim arrived back at the hospital fairly early this morning.
We have been visited by many different medical staff...Residents, Interns, NP, etc. Hayden is doing quiet well with all the different people. On the second day, Hayden has had 2 keto eggnog shakes. He drank the breakfast one & had 'scrambled eggs' for lunch...both the same amounts less than half a cup.
We were warned that one day two some of the kids crumble...while Hayden's blood sugar has stayed stable, he is definitely not Hayden. He has wanted to sit on our laps, has slept more....more like when he is sick—which is one reason Hopkins admits the kids when starting the diet. Tim & I have had 2 educational classes as well. This is new way of eating for Hayden is going to take a lot of learning for good while on our part & for those around us to respect that he cannot have anything that we don't prepare nor give to him.
I am missing my exercise routine....I had considered running the stairs, but that isn't doable as the one door is 'badge accessible'...oh well, my mission/goal/focus this week is Hayden, this new diet & his health.
There are two other families here as well. We haven't had a lot of interaction w/them yet, but when you are in a room w/your child that is your focus.
I haven't taken many pictures today, not much going on. I'm still at Hopkins right now. As I type this, we are on our third round of the same Little Einsteins, snuggling on the bed, encouraging some fluids & trying to decide about our supper. Tim will stay tonight with Hayden. Maybe I'll be able to log on tomorrow as well.
