Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

so many things, so little time, so much to do.....

So what's been going on at our house.......

We decided to seek a second opinion for Hayden's health issues. And we got an appt in 2-weeks!
We ordered our little man a helmet to protect his head because he keeps having so many jerks/small seizures.
But the first one came too big---so the reordered one is on the way & will hopefully will fit.

We had a huge meeting to make decisions about Hayden's schooling future. At first the special ed team wanted us to wait to make a decision until Hayden was closer to 3....but we stood our ground using facts about autism stating that children do much, much better w/ earlier intervention w/ social & speech integration. We won our points & Hayden will be attending a regional autism preschool! Currently, Hayden has Early Intervention & through them he receives speech, OT & ABA therapies...while we hate to loss all of this....Hayden has got to get into the school system for consistent daily routines of speech, ABA & learn social skills----while we work on all of this at home he needs more. We haven't completely ruled out some private therapies.
Hayden is making progress with the ABA therapy---basically it helps him learn to concentrate & then learn to play.

There are a few things to complete before Hayden can start school & we are working to get those bumps out of the road.

Shayla is going good.
She completed 200 math problems for the St.Judes Math-a-ton! She is back into the cheerleading program & reading all sorts of books. She continues to have drama moments....but that's Shayla! She is very protective of her brother as well.
Shayla competed in our church's race-aroma Wednesday night...she was very close to placing & going to the Friday night race, but didn't make that race.

Last weekend, I got to go on a girl's weekend w/ the adoption agency that we worked w/ for Hayden's adoption. 16 ladies from across the nation gathered in a cabin for a weekend of laughter, tears & hugs....it was good & good for the soul!
I am thankful that I got to go & my family let me go be part of the weekend.

I continue to follow Confessions of a CF Husband (http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/) the story continues--the devotion continues, you should read it too.
Gotta tend to my boy.
I'll post pictures next break I get.

xoxo, Amy
