I'm a little late in post about Shayla's birthday. It has been a busy week, not real sure where the week FLEW, but somehow the week past & I never got around to post about all that I really wanted to say. I can hardly believe that 7 years ago Tim & I were in California awaiting our court date when Shayla's birthparent's were to sign their papers...our world was turned upside down by Shayla's birthfather.....her birthmother, the rock stood by us for 11 months until the courts terminated her birthfather's rights. How we have been blessed by our daughter, days upon days...parenting isn't easy...but the rewards we are given are 10 fold.
Back to the birthday party...
She had fun last Sunday at her bowling party. TONS of giggles from twelve 7 yr olds. Lots of presents, then the sugar let down.....phew that was rough later that evening but we all survived.
Shayla is a strong will child. And she is learning about following directions & the consequences for not following them. It is rough, she isn't too happy w/ me, things are a bit tense but she HAS GOT TO LEARN! So she had her American Girl & accessories along w/ a new, toy, webkin taken away last night. We are working on behavior rewards...she has a hard time w/ this. We'll see how long it is before she improves in behavior/outburst to get her 'stuff' back.
Hayden is just Hayden. He turned 17 months today. We are working on cutting out the night time bottle & keep trying to get the boy to drink milk out of sipper cups....he is stubborn in that aspect, & as you can image image we have a wide variety of sipper cups to pick from too :). Hayden has cut at least his 4 big molars in the last month. Hopefully, he will be a little happier now.
Noticing how Hayden is taking to 'throwing' himself when he is mad or frustrated...makes us feel the same. We are letting it go some of the time when he is safe, but when outside on concret or in the bathtub...it is tough. Also watching for more lanuage development as Hayden isn't talking, really only 1-2 words. Already have set up his 18 month up check up & will discuss this w/ the ped if no improvement in a month.
Shayla is enjoying a mid-winter break as she was off from school Friday & tomorrow too.
Have an awesome week. We have enjoyed great weather...no jacket weather! Although by the end of the week it is to change to our norm.
Blessings all around as we are blessed times TWO!!
