Blessings Times Two

Welcome to our little piece of the world. We are blessed with health, happiness, & families. We have been blessed twice by different birthfamilies. Each birthfamily was at a time in their life when they needed us & we needed them. We each have been able to bless the other. So this blog is primarily for our children's birthparents who blessed us with the most precious gift of being parents. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with the precious gift of children.

National Adoption Day

Today is National Adoption day. The kids & I went to a celebration for adoption. Tim was sleeping, working grave yard shift right now. It was good day. This was the first time the homestudy agency we worked with for both kiddos adoptions has helped put this celebration together. So there is room for improvement ;)...but there were crafts for Shayla to do, Hispanic dancers for Hayden to watch & some yummy Mexican food to enjoy. Our family was recognized as well since Hayden's adoption was finalized this year. A local state representative was there & spoke. We were give a nice Christmas ornament & Hayden got a soft a bear.

After lunch we headed to the local mall. Shayla has been asking for some time to get her ears pierced. Well, after much thoughts, stipulations met by her w/ school work & this being a special day.....I gave her the option....and she choose YES! Some tears were shed because ya know, earpiercing does hurt but she got them done!
She is such a character. Once home she was admiring herself in the mirror & singing songs, playing w/ her hair.
We are blessed to have 2 beautiful children.
Have a great Sunday!

Pierced ears?? Wow, Shayla's such a big girl now. I'll go with her when she wants to get her nose pierced.
